BioSTATS; Character Name: Nyoka Class: Mage -> Mage Knight Country: Kilia Age: Birthday: June 3 Zodiac: Gemini Blood Type: AB Family: Oswin (Father, 43), Wren (Mother, 45) Language Skills: Trade; Kilian (able to recognize it in written form, but can't actually converse or write in it) HISTORY; Nyoka grew up like most other girls living in Kilia, beginning her study of magic at a young age. Despite the fact that she showed a talent for magic, she never really liked paying much attention to her studies, and tended to run off to play in the forests surrounding her home. After a while, her teacher became fed up with his student constantly running off, even if she WAS a rather competant magic user. He spoke with her and her parents, and Nyoka startled them all by acting far more serious and condescending than usual at her teacher's disapproval. Her parents and teacher didn't quite know what to make of it, but Nyoka didn't seem all that fazed by the change that had apparently come over her and acted like her usual self otherwise. Nyoka's teacher suggested it might be best if her parents find some other outlet for her, as clearly she had no intention of becoming a mage. Concerned that something could indeed be wrong with their daughter due to her recent behavior, her parents agreed and decided to try traveling through the various countries to help their daughter find something she would be more interested in. Although secretly, they also hoped to find some explanation for her odd shift in behavior. While journeying through Dentoria, they happened to catch the act of a traveling troupe of performers, and for days afterwards, Nyoka would dance around the inn imitating what she had seen. It was clear enough that she had found something she was genuinely interested in, and her parents decided to make the most of it. They weren't exactly all that pleased when they found her in the center of the city dancing and performing parlor tricks for people, but they valued their daughter's happiness more than their reputation, so they didn't complain. Much. Nyoka and her parents came to an agreement after a while. They would continue traveling in the hopes of finding an explanation for her shift in behavior, and she would be given the opportunity to continue with what she had found she liked- dancing and performing. She and her parents parted ways a year and a half ago, and still keep in touch via letters. PERSONALITY; Nyoka acts a lot like a kid at times, giggling over mostly everything. She'd rather play than do any sort of work, although she doesn't consider her street performing to be work, as she really enjoys it. She jokes around a lot and says things that sound pretty ludicrous, or just plain silly, and it doesn't bother her in the least if people poke fun at her for it. Although usually they find her too playful and childlike to say anything mean. However, when she's confronted with a serious or otherwise dire situation, her attitude changes completely. She acts condescending and completely opposite her usual persona, often biting into whomever caused the situation with hardly any concern for their reaction to her words. She'll switch back just as easily and act as if the change never occurred. If questioned about it, she'll say she really has no idea what the questioner is talking about, and will continue on like normal as if nothing happened. APPEARANCE; Nyoka has short blue hair usually tied up in a bun at the back of her head, and dark blue eyes. She tends to wear exotic clothes with any combination of odd baubles and patterns as well as the occasional circlet around her head with decorations dangling around her shoulders. Her face is nearly always decorated with makeup in unusual patterns, although never in the typical clown style. |
